Default to Me for Task Assignment

Currently, tasks are assigned to no one by default. This breaks a lot of site/app functionality, as those tasks will NOT appear under "My Tasks" at all.

Please allow us to set ourselves (or someone else) as the default assigned person for a task.

Tony Pham this one is really important. Both on the iPhone app and web. Please give us the option to default the assignee to yourself.

I'd love this. Personally I'd love to see it set as a default at the list or folder lever, so that by default all tasks created in a list or folder of lists get automatically assigned to the person or persons set in the in the list/folder settings

The comments so far talk about changing the view, which I don't think is what the OP (or I) want. Since Upbase is aimed at individuals and small groups, it would save us time if there was a default assignee when making new tasks. Right now whenever I create a task, I have to also remember to assign it to myself. This should be automatic.

I just discovered the ability to press space bar to assign to myself. So this feature is lower priority for me now.

Sridhar Dhanapalan: As you said, it's helpful. But we should be able to have defaults for workflows/individual users. Otherwise, "My Tasks" is completely useless.

Frederick Suleiman: Agree. Even a tool like Linear has an option to auto-assign created tasks to self. ClickUp has a personal workspace layout for a 1 person workspace.

Like in Asana, an extra step to assign yourself to every task you create is an extra step no matter what the keyboard shortcut is. Strange why this isn't there in Upbase since it's built for small teams and individuals. Hope Tony Pham considers making this process simple by adding a default option for the assignee.

Frederick Suleiman On the task board/list, weekly planner, weekly/monthly calendar, press Z to filter "tasks assigned to me", then when you add a new task, it will be automatically assigned to you.

It actually does appear under "My Tasks," but you have to filter it by selecting "Tasks Created by Me." The problem is that it defaults to "Tasks Assigned to Me" so it's kind of a pain to switch that every time. I brought it to Tony's attention and he said in the short future, Upbase would remember and keep your latest selection so you do not have to change it every time.
